December 21, 2006

Hello from Georgia!

I am currently sitting on my sister's bed, awkwardly angled slightly to the left, because this is the only position/location at our house I have found so far that lets me get a wireless signal from one of our neighbors. Today I drove around Alpharetta looking for free wireless (no at the public library, Starbucks you have to have a T-Mobile account), without much success. I ended up at my dad's office in Suwanee, which was about 10 miles farther away than I wanted to drive, but that's okay (I got to check out his new office while taking advantage of his internet). Then I met my mom at the new Trader Joe's that just opened in Norcross, and we browsed around there for a while, me pointing out all the organic stuff they carry and my mom commenting about how she could get most of it cheaper at the Korean supermarket.

Anyway, it's nice to be home, despite the fact that we have no cable and almost no internet. But call me if you want to do something, because my preferred method of communication -- email and IM -- is obviously not going to be very reliable over the holidays. :)

feeling guilty...

...for not posting at all since November ended! I guess NaBloPoMo did get me in the habit of thinking about things to write about -- there have been plenty of times in the past two weeks when I've mentally filed away a thought that I felt was blog-worthy, only to forget about it later -- it just didn't get me in the habit of actually sitting down and writing it. Oh well.

Alan's last final exam for the semester was yesterday, so this is the first carefree weekend in a while for him, and to celebrate we are going into the city today to do some holiday shopping. Worrying about what gifts to get people is much more preferable to worrying about work or exams, so I'm excited. Plus, we're going to get brunch. Plus, I'll be back in Atlanta in four days!
