the way to my heart
Just watched a new episode of Good Eats, "Fry Turkey Fry," in which Alton Brown constructs a turkey hoisting/lowering contraption from a ladder, a pulley, rope, some hooks and a carabiner. I don't think I'm quite ready for frying turkeys yet, but I was mightily impressed nevertheless. Plus, there was a scene featuring the Cobb County Fire Department, and I always appreciate when AB includes a little Georgia love in his episodes.
Those who know me know that I really don't handle suspense all that well; it's why I don't like watching television dramas or action movies. As a child, I remember sitting on the couch while my dad watched MacGyver, and covering my eyes during the parts where I thought MacGyver was going to drown or get exploded or something like that. Good Eats, though, is like MacGyver without any of the suspense! Plus yummy recipes.
