The deck that I park
The deck that I park in has an open side to it, where the cars are just separated from the open air by some thick wires suspended in a wide grid. In some strategic places, the horizontal wires have been removed, so that you can walk through the holes in between the wires instead of having to go around to the actual deck exit.
I was walking to my car the other day, and I thought I had found the gap where the wires were missing, so I strode confidently up and -- BAM! -- a wire came out of nowhere and hit me right in between my eyes. (Well, I guess the wire didn't really "come at me;" I came at the wire, but, you know.) After a couple minutes of cursing, massaging my face, and looking around embarassedly, I got over the shock of the injury, got into my car and drove away.
It wasn't until later that night, when I looked in the mirror, that I saw that my run-in with the fence had left a smart red mark and a bit of a bruise. So now it looks like I have a big red zit at the bridge of my nose. You, readers, will know that it's not... though I don't know if the real story is much better. ;)
